Sean – Lead Youth Worker and Project Leader of Detached Youth Work and Level Up

Hi, I’m Sean. I am very pleased to be back in a career that I hoped would last the rest of my working life. I was a Youth Worker for Surrey County Council for20 years starting in 1995 until I took voluntary redundancy after further cuts to the Youth Service. This included mobile provision, centre based projects, delivering RSE, Substance Education, Young Parents groups, Music and Arts projects, Links projects for bullied and marginalised young people, Home Education support groups, school inclusion groups among other targeted and drop in projects. I became a leader in charge after completing an DipHE in Youth and Community work, planning, delivering and evaluating projects in Haslemere and Godalming. I have worked in PRUs and as a TA in a SEMH school and within care homes. I am also a DJ, a musician in several bands and teach one to one guitar, bass and drum lessons.

Dominique – Centre Manager and Administrator

Hi! I’m Dominique. I have been a part of the Crossover team for nearly 3 years working as their administrator. I have recently took on the role as Centre Manager and both jobs are very fulfilling, fun, and rewarding! The thing that I enjoy most about my job is seeing the positive impact that our Youth Workers have on the young people within our community. I currently do not have any hobbies, but I enjoy spending time with my family and friends when I am not working.

Claire – HR Trustee/Youth Worker/Volunteer

Hello, my name is Claire! I’ve been a Youth Worker for over 40 years. I love getting to know young people and at Crossover we could be working with them from Year 5 up to their early Twenties- what a privilege. Apart from youth work, I’ve been a jilleroo in Central Australia and was a backing singer on Contemporary Folk Record of the Year in the mid-Seventies!

Sarah – Youth Worker

I’m Sarah and I started volunteering with a youth group in Guildford back in 2007 and that’s how I became a youth worker. The thing I enjoy most about youth work is hanging out with the young people and trying to win at Mario Kart, which sometimes does happen. 🙂

Suzy – Youth Worker

Hi I’m Suzy, I’ve been working at Crossover for 2 and half years, and it’s an absolute pleasure working with all of our young people, watching them grow and teaching them new skills. In my spare time I love to play netball and I enjoy activities that are high in adrenaline… a sky dive, a bungee jump, the more daring, the better.

Nell – Youth Worker

Hi I’m Nell. I am the newbie in the team and am looking forward to a future in Youth Work. When not injured I enjoy spending my spare time quad skating with my family at the skatepark. I also love music festivals and gigs and am partial to a craft fair or market of any kind. I also like to get lost in the woods with my dog Nutkin and spend time at home ‘kitchen witching’ balms and edibles.

Victoria – Youth Worker

Hi I’m Victoria and I’m fairly new to The Crossover team. Since leaving university I have always worked within the care and education sector, my last job involved teaching independence and life skills to young disabled adults. I don’t have much time for hobbies these days as my three young boys take up most of my time, but when I do get the chance I love to bake to de-stress and I also enjoy all things nail art having completed a nail tech course a few years ago. Having grown up in the village I know how important it is for young people to have a place like Crossover.

Katie – Youth Worker

Hi I’m Katie, and I’m new to crossover.

I am an outgoing, loving, compassionate girl who loves to help others. I used to work at chaos working with young adults with additional needs and I would be in charge of the activities, including music and dance. I went to college and higher education studying music, and was part of a band for a few years. My voice in my instrument. I love to sing and express myself, which I think is very important. If I could give back anything it would be the ability to help the children find their own voices! I’m very quirky and I love being my true authentic self.  So far I have loved every minute at crossover and I can’t wait to help support the children in building there self esteem and self confidence. My hobbies include being out in nature, Crystal healing, meditation and most importantly spending time with my family.
